M.A.C Interview?

I was interviewed last year at M.a.c and i did not get the job because during the demo part of the interview ( where i apply makeup on a model) i did not apply the foundation the right way!? I took too long and on top of it all when i was asked what 3 items of the m.a.c cosmetics would i recommend and why? Like if a lady walked in and asked, I'd like to buy an eyeliner, as a sales person what 2 other items would you bring out to complete a look?!! I answered i would bring out a lip gloss and mascara, she asked why? i answered, well because that completes a very natural look. So i guess that was not the right answer, i cried as soon as i got in my car because i knew i had failed at all the questions, I decided to go to makeup artistry school. I became a certified and trained pro MUA. So tomorrow they (M.a.c) are holding an open house at a local hotel and i again, I'm a little nervous. I still don't know what it I should say during the interview? Can you ladies help?

Thank you!!

M.A.C Interview?
Since you didn't get the job last time, learn from your mistakes,

but hey if you don't get the job, at least you know how to put on foundation right. ;P LOL.

Um, I'd get rehearse all the questions they asked you last time, and make sure they're tip top, like if someone comes in for eyeliner, what will look nice with that, maybe name the EXACT brand of the product too, maybe that should help.
Reply:It's probably not that you didn't apply the makeup the right way, you probably didn't "sell" it right. You said" It completes a very natural look" but you didn't say why the look was natural.. if that makes sense.

Edit:

Why would you have picked a certain product and color? Maybe a certain color of lipgloss and mascara would have complimented your models skin tone/hair color/eye color and even the eyeliner's color to make a natural look. Be confident and study their products :) Give them detail when you answer questions and use your model as a guide. Or you can create a look that would look good everyone, no matter their skin tones "This color eyeliner and mascara brings out the color in her eyes and lipgloss compliments her skintone perfectly. This look is great because it's simple and so easy to do!" You can also could reccomend an eyeshadow with the other two products for a drammatic but easy change in her look. "This eyeshadow would make such a drammatic effect without having to do so much and would be perfect for a night out.". Selling is a big part of it.Tell your interviewer that you would ask what kind of look your client was trying to accomplish first and if they weren't sure, pick out something simple that would make a difference and be easy enough for them to accomplish on their own. Be confident, give detail and know their collection. Good Luck!!!!!
Reply:well, check out http://www.maccosmetics.com/templates/lo...

it's apparently what they're looking for. and yes, you need to be able to appy foundation fast and smooth, in the direction of the facial muscles: up and out on the cheeks, down and in on the nose. and for the three products, i'd say "blushcreme in posey, prep+prime face protect spf 50, and pro lash mascara in black, because all these products are great for any skin tone and type, and have a very dramatic yet subtle brightening effect on the face."
Reply:First of all good luck! I am not sure why they consider there to be a right and wrong answer to this question.. I feel like it's more of an opinoin. As far as the question goes.. here's some options you can pick or choose from. I don't go anywhere w/ out my Studio Fix! Maybe include some blush and lip gloss? perfect for me.. But I dunno again, I don't see why there is a right and a wrong answer for this! I would have cried when I got to my car, too.. Props to you for going right back to them and doing another interview! That's awesome. Good luck!
