Why is option quarterbacking successful in college and the C.F.L.and a train wreck in the N.F.L.?

Like james said.....in the NFL the defenders much faster than in college. Even the worst NFL players were the best college players.

The issue is not with ability, but rather with strategy. The quarterback is too valueable a player in the NFL to risk injury, so the option is rarely used. That is not only value in salary, but also in "replaceability".
Reply:NFL defenses r to fast. r so they say.
Reply:Michal Vick ? But he will be lucky to last 3 more years, Remember Randal Cunningham.
