Now, i've done my research. I know what EV training is, why we do it, e.t.c.
But there is one thing that gnaws away at my mind, continually.
Here is an example of this annoyance. It occurs when people post the formula of suggested EV distribution.
Someone might say, ' How should i EV train my Golem?
Then someone else might say, 'Well, do this',
252 in Atk, 252 in Def, 6 in Spec Def.
Can someone please tell me WHY anyone would care about where that extra 6 EV's would go? After all only one stat point will be gained (4 EV = 1 Stat Point)
Whats the point?
Is it something to do with determining IV values when using stat calculators such as the one on Serebii? (Probably not, lol)
POKEMON: Argh! EV TRAINING?
Knowing where the extra 6 is helps you when training the others to 252. I agree that 6 is pretty pointless in that it only adds 1 stat point, but it makes mapping and tracking EVs easier. I almost always put the extra into HP cuz 1 extra HP can't hurt.
