I am about to begin a tough training schedule to try to become an U.F.C Fighter and was wondering what the benefits were. I am totally dedicated to this goal, but was just wondering if any body had any input on the subject
What are the benefits of becoming an U.F.C Fighter?
Unlimited Toenail Polish, Temporary Tattoos, Pink Hair Dye, and a “Flowbee”.
Reply:yeah! what frank said. plus you'll be in great shape. training with the best fighters and competing with them. pride, knowing you did things most dream about. I wanna do it too. just waiting for the right opportunity. i gotta build up my backup plan just in case my dreams fall through. 100% commitment, that means the more you take care now the less stress you'll deal with later. Always have a backup plan whether you need it or not. It ain't easy.
Reply:material things but also going through a great experience.
Reply:You get to beat the crap out of people for money...legally.
Reply:The benefits are:
-money (if you are succesful)
-fame (if you market yourself right).
Becoming an MMA fighter, and getting a contract in the UFC is no easy task my friend.
Tough training does NOT get you a contract with the UFC, first you must have a winning record in smaller MMA organizations (local usually), in order to get noticed.
Nowadays fighters are very well-rounded, you have to be proficient in both striking and grappling, and professional fighters train about 30 hours a week.
good luck!
Reply:If you need to ask someone to tell you what the benefits are then you clearly aren't cut-out for MMA.
I never stepped into the octogon but I did play Hockey at a very high level and I never needed anyone to explain to me why I would enjoy playing the sport. The benefits were already built in to me and my persona. I played the sport because I loved it...I loved to compete...I loved to win...I loved the adrenaline rush...I loved to make an awesome pass or score a sweet goal...I loved making a huge open-ice hit...I loved fighting and sticking up for my teammates. I played hockey professionally in the minor leagues but I didn't care what I was paid or what groupies I could bang or what bars we got to drink for free at. That was all great, but for me it was all about proving myself. Proving tomyself and to those who doubted me that I was good enough to be there and thriving to get to the next level.
It sounds like you are thinking of entering the MMA because there may be some financial or social benefits. Not because you love the sport and you love to compete. I think you need to re-evaluate
Reply:there are many benefits... money, fame, girls, basically if you do good in the UFC your like a rock star. And its just not that easy to say hey im going to train hard and since im dedicated i can be in the UFC. it will take a long time and you should try getting lots of experience from as many local fights you can. our fighter just won his first mma fight. GL!!
Reply:pretty much nothing. The fame is not very wide spread and the money is laughable considering other sports. Plus, you get your head bashed in.
Reply:First off, u better be ready to get beat up for awhile. U will instantly be training with grown men who have been fighting for years. You are going to get beat up. Black eyes, bruised ribs, achy back taste of blood in your mouth. These guys feast on fresh meat like you my friend. They see you walk through the door and start licking their chops. Also you need to be 110 percent dedicated. You must have heart. Also, do you knock people out when you fight them? That helps. Punchers are born and it is really hard to train to be a puncher. It's more of a natural thing. Also u better be in shape cardio wise. Try shadow boxing 3 minute rounds. 1 minute between and see how far you get. Benefits? Knowing that you accomplished what you set out to do. You won't get anywhere unless u do it for yourself. Goodluck.
