Another porrty training question?

My 2 yr 3 month old son is doing very well going pee pee on the potty during the day if reminded and I am convinced in public he thinks it's a fun game of see how fast prego mom can run to the potty. Anyway I have a few problems. He is sill soaking diapers at night b/c he won't sleep without a sippy cup (or two) of milk and he will not poop on the potty no matter how much I scold him for doing it in his diaper or put him on the potty with books etc.

I heard that if you just put the kids in underware and a shirt they will not like being peed on but I have all rugs in my house. UGH! Would anyone suggest pull ups at night and his potty seat in his room? and then how do I protect my floor from him peeeing every where and is he old enough to put his pull up back on when he is tired.

HELP! I have a baby on the way in August and I desperately want to have only 1 kid in diapers and the pre-school he goes to wants him potty tarined by August as well.

Another porrty training question?
Look sweetie be patient I wouldn't worry about it so much.

You would be surprised at how many kids are bed wetters. It has nothing to do with being lazy or not knowing what to do.

Think about the little one has been wetting while they sleep their whole life they have become accustomed to it.

The only way you are gonna get him to poop in the potty is to wait pay attention to when he is pushing run to the bath room and continuously praise him and tell him what a big boy he is and how proud you are clap your hands what ever I guarantee he will catch on real quick that this makes mommy real happy.
Reply:forget about potty training him at night...

it just does not work the same way as day potty training...

his brain has to make the connection, wake up and go to the bathroom... it is normal for a 5 year old to still wear diapers.

As for training him during the day, it seems you are doing everything right, so just be patient, constant, and never yell at him for having an accident. .

So relax, especially now that you have another baby on the way.

I would not follow the advice of the person above... Not a good idea to disturb your sleep and his...
Reply:What I would do is put a nightlight in his room and put a pull up on him and reward him a sticker or a sucker or even a cookie each night he makes it through with any oops!
Reply:I'm not a mommy but I run a daycare and I think I can help a little. First off, the pull-ups at night are not a good idea--they don't pull wetness away from his butt and if he pees and stays wet all night he will end up with a diaper rash. Get a waterproof mattress cover or sheet and let him sleep naked--a few nights of a wet bed will help him stop wetting the bed. You may have a few awakenings for a couple nights when he wets but it will be well worth it in the end. As for the pooping on the potty--this will sound really strange but I've seen it work many times--get a can--coffee can or something and put a handful of pennies in it. Be careful he doesn't swallow any of them but when it is about time for him to go poop, put him on the potty and sit next to him. Give him the can of pennies to play with, shake, etc. Talk to him and keep him interested as long as you possibly can every few minutes reminding him to try to go potty. Don't scold or shame him for accidents--they WILL happen. As for your rugs-- buy a bottle of febreeze for now and as soon as he's trained have the rugs cleaned.
