Any tips, tricks for training the dexterity, agility and reflexes of my fingers for playing the guitar?

1) i cant press the strings hard enough with the 4th and last finger, hence the sound is always muffled.

2) i also have trouble avoiding the next string from hitting my fingers. eg, when strumming on the F chord, the 4th string always bounces and hits my last finger, causing a trembling sound.

i realise that with practice, i can avoid the 2 problems with the C, D and G chords, but now im moving on to a new chord F, this problems occur. any solutions?

1) Make sure you are pressing as close to the fret bar as possible. (2nd fret = press close to the 2nd fret bar). It is a lot more economical as the strings are naturally closer to the fret and will therefore require less strength for them to sound out.

2) Make sure you are playing with your fingerTIPS and nothing else. Unless your fingers are huge, this can be overcome with practice.

3) Unfortunately, there are no quick-fixes. For your F chord, just keep on playing it will every string rings. Then rinse and repeat.
Reply:Yeah you gotta keep with it to build up some finger strength. Check out http://www.guitartricks.com for some exercises to help out.
Reply:Practice, practice, practice. Play until you are in so much pain you want to cry. Try and play with your fingers further and further apart... the sound doesn't matter, remember, you're trying to stretch them.
