Christians and others: how much Bible training do you have?

Here are some choices:


A. I've never read any Bible.


B. I've read parts of the Bible.


C. I've read the Bible entirely.


D. I've read the Bible several times.


E. I attend Bible studies.


F. I study Bible on my own.


G. I've studied the Bible formally before in school.


H. I've been to a college/university and studied Bible.


I. I've studied the Bible for years formally.


J. I'm clergy, with many years of advanced study.


K. I'm a theologian (published), with many years of advanced study and debate with other theologians.

Christians and others: how much Bible training do you have?
I was a Christian but I quit after intensively studying the Bible on my own. Not that I am not into Jesus, he's cool, it is just that mainstream Christianity and most Christians don't know what the Bible says. That was a bummer.

I think that covers all that I have done. I attened college at the church where I went and have 2 years of study in the bible. Plus my own studies at home. I was in Bible Study for awhile.

Not saying I have all the answers........just admitting that God has not revealed all of Himself to us as of yet.

It seems that Bible study groups don't really "study" the Bible, they search for passages that reinforce their established beliefs, and ignore the passages that conflict with them.

More than a few of the above, but since there's SO MUCH to the Bible, I would say I haven't studied nearly enough. I've only been at it for 32 years or so.


That's the great thing- you can go your whole life, and still it's presenting new insights.

But I'm still learning.

I've read it several times during my life. I have several non-religious books I've read several times, too, so I don't think that's a good indicator of anything. I read the bible on my own at first because I never understood the people coming to my door quoting scriptures. I decided it would be better to know the text when confronted by these people. Knowledge is a powerful thing.
Reply:It doesen't matter! Its how someone understands God and whats he's about. Someone can have a PHD in God Study with 70 years of study and understand nothing. A child with the Holy Spirit can understand God in an instant.
