Weight Training?
Hey Jake, I wish i started out at 17,

but this is what you do. The answer above mine is not detailed enough. You do have to eat but you have to eat "clean" meaning you cant just shove everything in your mouth that you see.

You dont want to gain fat you want to gain muscle with little fat gain is possible. You have to put yourself on a high calorie diet. Now what that means is get yourself some whey protein, it comes in a tub in a powder form drink that mixed with water before and after your workout of high weight and low reps and least 6 to 8 reps.

And then when you wake up mix one scoop of the whey powder with a big glass of low fat milk and one cup of oat meal (the quaker oats the old fashioned kind) and throw in a banana for taste. That will count as a high calorie clean meal full of protein. Before you go to bed drink one glass of low fat milk.

Eat at least 5 to 6 meals a day, stick with chicken, lean red meats, eggs etc. You will pack on muscle with hardly any fat.

Dont over train because you grow muscle while you are resting and not at the gym. Drink plenty of water and youll be looking GREAT!! oh and btw the rule of thumb is to eat at least 1 gram of protein for every pound you weight so you should be taking in 115 grams of protein a day. Good luck

Reply:if you want to get bigger and gain muscle forget about doing cardio for awhile, actualy a LONG while. the only way to get bigger is to eat eat eat and eat while also going to the gym no more then 4 days a week and training with HEAVY weight and low reps, 4 -6 range. the more cardio u do the skinnier ull get. its best to gain weight and get strong then once ur bigger then start doin sum cardio while maintaining the eating and heavy lifting. trust me its the only way to grow and get muscle. i used to be 5'11 145 lbs. i said to myself i really need to gain sum weight/muscle, a little over 2 years later after doing what i just said iam now 5'11 180lbs of muscle, i aint fat at all. i get a lot of complimants now from people telling me how much bigger i am then what i used to be. take my advice and i guarentee you will see results.
