Circuit training 4 days a week TOO much?

ok actually this question is intended for people who have done years of exercising, maybe military background or even law enforcement background=)

i will be going into the sheriff academy this may, i went to one of the preacademy training days, and it kicked ***!!!!

we did circuit training, for example, 25 pushups, then 220 yards, then 30 crunches then 220 yards, then 25 prayer pushup (diamond pushups), then 440 yards, then 25 mountain climbers, then 880 yards

then did all above again LOL mixing some other basic exercises

so my question is, is doing these FOUR days a week too much? b/c i dont want to hurt myself before the academy starts yet i want to BE REALLY REALLY READY FOR IT

also, my timing for 220 yards and 440 yards are great, in fact, faster than the border line timing =) but somehow i felt really discouraged b/c so many guys were running faster than me =( i know there is still half a class behind me, but does anyone ever experienced this feeling of downness? if so please

Circuit training 4 days a week TOO much?
That sounds like some awesome workout.

Anyways, 4 days a week is great. Just give yourself a day in between each workout to relax so your muscles can recoup. Make sure you change out exercises so they don't become boring, and keep your exercise sessions versatile. Do not be discouraged by others and their performance. Do not gauge yourself on the basis of someone else's performance. Doing so can dishearten you and will set you up for falling short because there will always be someone who is better than you. Just turn that into motivation to excel and train harder. Make sure you are satisfied with your performance, and never become so content that you become complacent. Always strive for perfection!

I feel the same way you do, and I usually work out a good bit when I get into a groove. I'm training myself for Officer Candidate School for the Marine Corps, so I can relate. Best of luck!

Reply:I think you'll get more results in the fitness section. vs here.
Reply:no 4 days isn't too much as long as its every other day (I do something different everyday and I take Sunday off)...as far as you being down about ppl in front of you, don't worry about it as you said there are still ppl behind you
